San Diego County Traffic Divisions We Cover

San Diego splits traffic cases across four divisions, each with its own court code. Find the one on your citation or courtesy notice.

Are You Eligible for Traffic School?

California sets the rules — not us. Make sure you actually qualify before you pay.

✓ You probably qualify if…

  • You have a valid driver's license (California or out-of-state, if the court authorizes it)
  • You were driving a non-commercial vehicle
  • The violation is a minor infraction (not a misdemeanor or DUI)
  • Your courtesy notice says you may attend traffic school
  • You haven't used TVS to mask a point in the last 18 months

✗ You likely don't qualify if…

  • You were driving a commercial vehicle (a CDL holder cited in a personal vehicle may still qualify — see the FAQ)
  • The ticket is for a misdemeanor or DUI
  • The violation requires a mandatory court appearance
  • You used traffic school within the last 18 months
  • Your courtesy notice does not say you're eligible

Not sure? Check your courtesy notice or the Pay Your Ticket portal before paying. We can't issue refunds for ineligible registrations.

Four Steps to a Clean Record

Many students finish in one sitting. Here's the whole flow. See our How It Works page for the full breakdown.

1

Confirm Eligibility

Wait for your courtesy notice — it arrives about two weeks before your appearance date and states whether traffic school is an option. Look up your case on the Pay Your Ticket portal to confirm. Don't skip this step — we can't refund ineligible registrations.

2

Pay the Court's $52 Admin Fee

Request traffic school and pay San Diego Superior Court's $52 fee (your bail plus $52) through the Pay Your Ticket portal, by mail, at an express drop box, or by phone. This is separate from any Freeway course payment when you pass. Verify current fee amount with the court.
